PVC Headlight Film – Installation & Usage Guide

Thank you for choosing our PVC headlight protective film. It helps resist scratches, stone chips, and UV damage. Please follow these instructions for best results.

1. Pre‑Installation Preparation

Environment:
Work indoors in a dust‑free, cool area (15–25°C). Avoid direct sunlight and windy conditions.

Tools Required:
Spray bottle with diluted neutral detergent (approx. 100:1 water‑to‑soap ratio)
Soft squeegee or rubber scraper
Craft knife (sharp blade)
Heat gun or hair dryer (adjustable temperature)
Microfiber cloth
Isopropyl alcohol or grease remover

Surface Cleaning
Thoroughly wash the headlight surface, removing all grease, bug residues, and grit. Wipe with alcohol to ensure a completely clean, residue‑free surface.

2. Installation Steps

Positioning & Pre‑Cutting
Drape the film over the headlight, leaving about 3–5 cm excess margin around the edges. Make a rough initial cut with the craft knife.

Wetting the Surface
Evenly spray the diluted solution onto both the headlight and the adhesive side of the film. This creates a lubricating layer for easy positioning and air evacuation.

Applying & Aligning
Slowly lay the film onto the headlight. Use the slippery surface to slide it into precise alignment. Gently smooth from the center outward.

Squeegeeing & Air Removal
Using the squeegee, push water and air bubbles radially from the center to the edges. For stubborn bubbles, prick with a needle and continue squeegeeing.

Edge Wrapping & Heat Setting
Use a heat gun (approx. 60–80°C) to warm the excess film along the edges. Stretch and wrap it over the back of the housing. Keep the heat moving constantly to avoid overheating any spot.

Final Trimming
After complete cooling, precisely cut off the excess film along the edge of the housing with the craft knife. Re‑squeegee the edges to ensure firm adhesion.

3. Usage & Maintenance Tips
Curing Period: Avoid washing the car, high‑speed driving, or heavy rain within 48 hours after installation to allow full adhesive curing.

Cleaning Method: Hand‑wash with mild automotive shampoo and a soft sponge. Avoid high‑pressure washers aimed directly at the film edges.

Avoid Solvents: Do not use gasoline, acetone, or strong alkaline cleaners on the film surface.

Routine Inspection: Periodically check the edges for lifting. If minor lifting occurs, re‑heat and press down firmly.

Important Notes
This product is a consumable protective layer and does not replace structural protection.
If the headlight already has deep scratches or cracks, repair the surface before film application.
Installation is a skilled procedure. If you are inexperienced, we recommend having it installed at an authorized service center.
Expected service life is approximately 1 year, depending on environmental conditions. Replacement is advised after this period.
